Sometimes a head contractor asks for a claim again after you have served it. The email was lost, or the person who looks after your claims has moved on and someone new needs it. You can send them a copy from the claim's page.
Sending it
Open the claim. Under its documents, choose Send a copy beside Served PDF. Before anything is sent you choose who it goes to:
- Served on lists the people the claim was served on. They are ticked to start with.
- On the contract now lists anyone else the claim email would go to if you served it today, from the contract's current contacts. Tick the ones who should have it.
You can only choose from these lists. If the right person is not there, add them to the contract as a contact first.
What they receive
The email is titled Copy - Payment Claim with the claim's reference. It attaches the claim PDF and the documents the claim was served with, in the same order. Nothing is reprinted: the PDF is the one you served.
The email says it is a copy of a claim you already served, that it is not a new payment claim, and that the date of service has not changed. It states no amounts. The figures are in the PDF.
Whether the copy arrived is shown beside Served PDF on the claim. If it bounces you are not sent a delivery-failure alert, because the claim itself was delivered, so check there.
When you can send one
You can send a copy of a claim served by email, once its email has gone through. You can send as many copies as you need.
You cannot send a copy:
- Before the claim is served, including while it is waiting for manual service.
- Of a claim served by post, delivery or lodgment. The platform never emailed that claim, so an email of it could be read as serving it a second time. Send it yourself.
- While the claim email is still sending. Wait for it to go through.
- When the claim email failed or bounced. The head contractor may not have the claim at all. Use Re-send email on the claim instead, which serves it.
